What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction, relaxation, and spiritual healing that is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through all living things.  It is important to note that while Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion and has no dogma.

A Reiki practitioner uses a light or no touch “laying of hands” to guide energy throughout the recipient’s body to promote self-healing.  It is a simple, natural, and safe method of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual healing and self-improvement that can be enjoyed by everyone.

Reiki is a complementary therapy that may help support healing and increase a feeling of well-being for some people. Here are some potential benefits of Reiki:

Improved mood
Reduced stress and increased relaxation
Better sleep, improved insomnia symptoms
Decreased pain perception
Reduced anxiety and feelings of sadness
Enhanced quality of life
Boosted mood
Promotes emotional healing and spiritual growth
Stimulates the body's immune system
Brings on a meditative state

It is important to note that Reiki should not replace medical treatments, but rather be used as a complementary therapy.
