Dr. Mitch Atkinson
Chiropractor
Dr. Atkinson was born and raised in Oakville, Ontario and lived in Switzerland for a few years in between. He decided to pursue a career in chiropractic after seeing a chiropractor for his sports injuries and was impressed by the various treatment techniques they used to help him.
He completed his undergraduate degree at Western University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology Degree. At Western, he also volunteered as a teaching assistant for the clinical anatomy labs. He went on to complete his Doctor of Chiropractic Degree at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College.
After graduating, Dr. Atkinson has taken additional courses from FIFA, receiving a Diploma in Football Medicine, enhancing his knowledge for treating soccer players and athletes in general.
His treatments mainly consist of adjustments to the joints of the spine and extremities using Diversified Technique, Myofascial Release Technique and Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) to treat muscles and other soft tissues, exercise, patient education, and modalities (TENS, laser).
Whether helping athletes recover from injuries or individuals seeking relief from everyday aches and pains, he believes chiropractic can help anyone live a healthier active lifestyle.
In his free time he enjoys playing basketball, soccer, golf, tennis, biking, fishing, camping, guitar, cooking, and reading..
