<image:caption>What is Acupuncture Acupuncture is the insertion of very thin, fine needles into the body to stimulate musculoskeletal points. Acupuncture is often recommended by practitioners for the treatment of chronic pain, including back and neck pain, muscle and joint pain, and chronic headaches. Scientific studies have proven the clinical effects of acupuncture in reducing pain. By stimulating the acupuncture needle with manual or electrical manipulation, a neurological response is produced. The stimulation causes the body to produce higher levels of the body's natural pain killers, endorphins and enkephalons. Acupuncture also stimulates increased blood flow, reduces muscular trigger points and reduces deep scar tissue, all to promote healing in the area. What conditions respond well to Acupuncture * Neck pain and radiating arm pain * Back pain and sciatica * Headaches * Shoulder pain * Tendonitis * Elbow pain (Tennis Elbow, Golfer's Elbow) * Wrist Pain * Carpal Tunnel Syndrome * Hip Pain * Osteoarthritis * Knee Pain * Foot and Ankle Pain * Sprains and Strains * Plantar Fasciitis</image:caption>

<image:caption>Myofascial Release Therapy (MRT) is a manual therapy that focuses on pain believed to arise for myofascial tissues, the tough membranes that surround, connect and support your muscles. Myofascial pain originates in 'trigger points', which are stiff, anchored areas within the myofascial tissue. These trigger points often cause referred pain, which means the source of your pain may be distal to the area in which your pain is felt. During MRT, myofascial areas that feel stiff and fixed instead of elastic and movable under light pressure are identified. These areas restrict muscle and joint movements, which contributes to widespread muscular pain. Focused manual pressure and stretching works to loosen restricted myofascial tissue, leading towards pain reduction.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Chiropractic care for infants and children is an important step for the health of your child. As your child grows, their bones model in response to outside physical stresses placed upon them and proper joint motion is needed to distribute these forces for optimal bone development. There are periods of time when skeletal growth is accelerated, such as during growth spurts, during which balance in the muscles and joints is especially important. Just like the bones of the skeleton, your child’s nervous system is also developing at a rapid rate. The nervous system includes the brain, the spinal cord, and all the millions of nerves that serve every inch of your body and control most of its functions. Research studies verifying the safety and effectiveness of chiropractic care for kids. The amount of force used to adjust an infant is comparable to the amount of force you use to test a ripe tomato at the grocery store.Generally, children respond much faster and more profoundly to chiropractic care than adults do. They have not subjected their bodies to the same years of abuse that adults have. Another major difference is that pain is not typically their primary symptom. This can make it more difficult for parents to know when their child may need to visit the chiropractor. There are certain “clues” that we can watch for to gain more understanding in this area, such as postural changes, only wanting to breast feed from one side, being off-balance, and walking or running with a limp. Other times that your child may need chiropractic care include immediately following birth, following major milestones such as crawling or walking, after a trauma or fall and/or if you notice any imbalances such as limping or head tilting. Chiropractic care for children will vary as much as chiropractic for adults. As mentioned above, it is often difficult to know when your child may need to see the chiropractor because they do not always communicate pain. To help with this issue, we recommend setting regular check-up visits, the same way you would with your dentist and pediatrician. These check-ups help to catch minor issues before they turn in to major problems and allow kids to truly maximize their healthy potential.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Hailey grew up in the Napanee area and studied massage therapy at Algonquin College in Ottawa, where she graduated with honours in April 2017. Throughout her three years at Algonquin, Hailey gained experience working with a wide variety of conditions including: sports injury, post operative healing, pregnancy, neurological conditions, postural dysfunction, chronic pain, anxiety and depression. Her interest in human anatomy and physiology is what lead her to massage therapy and what continues to fuel her enthusiasm for life long learning. She integrates a variety of techniques in her work and tailors each treatment to meet her clients individual needs. Hailey provides a thorough intake interview, assessment, hands on treatment and home care during every visit. She helps her clients understand their anatomy and how the proposed treatment plan may benefit existing impairments, as she believes client education is a very important part of the therapeutic process. Hailey is excited to be working with the team at Napanee Family First Chiropractic and is eager to help her clients reach all their wellness goals.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Hi! My name is Aimee-Lee and I am so excited to be your RMT! When it comes to working with patients, I love to be engaged and have fun. I graduated Sutherland-Chan in 2014 and joined their faculty as a clinic instructor until January 2023. I’m very passionate and intrigued by movement and the human body. I love learning and sharing knowledge. Over the years I have pursued various courses to make me a better therapist for my patients. Some of my favourites have been cupping, taping and acupuncture. Most recently, I completed firefighting college and joined the Napanee fire department. I love working with people and helping in any capacity whether that’s medical, emergency or health related. In my free time, I love to stay active. Most of the time you can find me playing pickleball, volunteering as a Canadian Ski patroller, playing hockey and working out. I look forward to meeting you soon!</image:caption>
